Baby’s 5 senses

  1. Sight: Newborns can distinguish light from dark but can’t distinguish colors until about 4 months old.

  2. Sound: Your baby will turn her head toward a sound or voice she hears.

  3. Taste: Foods your baby was exposed to during pregnancy or breastfeeding are those she may prefer when she starts solid foods.

  4. Touch: Babies enjoy soft touches, like a gentle caress or the feel of soft cotton.

  5. Smell: Babies are born preferring sweet smells such as vanilla and breastmilk. They also recognize you by your scent.
