Introducing Foods

Looking ahead: 2ND FOODS PUREES

Looking ahead: 2ND FOODS PUREES

Once your baby has enjoyed single-ingredient fruit and vegetable purees, he may be ready for GERBER® 2ND FOODS® purees. They introduce your baby to flavor variety through blended fruits, vegetables, and dinners.

To tell whether your baby is ready for new foods, watch for subtle changes in the way he takes and swallows food. For example, it may be easier for him to keep food in his mouth, and he may close his upper lip over the spoon to draw the food into his mouth.

Different from GERBER® 1ST FOODS® purees, 2ND FOODS fruits and vegetables offer mixed varieties such as Apple Strawberry Banana and Organic Butternut Squash & Corn.

You will also find other delicious flavors, including 2ND FOODS Dinners such as Chicken Noodle and Turkey Rice. These dinners offer combinations of pureed vegetables, fruits, grains, and meats.

As your baby expands his solid-food diet, advancing the texture is important for the progression of feeding skills necessary for him to eventually eat more grown-up foods.

Healthy tip

Be sure to wait until your baby is 12 months old to introduce honey. Honey may contain botulinum spores, which can cause serious illness in infants. Even small amounts of honey can cause problems.
