Tips to get juice-smart

Tips to get juice-smart

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that you wait until your baby is at least 6 months old to start juice. Here are more tips to help you get juice-smart:

  • Make sure the label reads 100% juice—not an “ade” or “juice drink.” 100% juice has no added sugars, artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives.
  • Once your baby is 6 months old, start with 1 to 2 ounces a day. Older babies’ intake can be up to 4 ounces a day.
  • Be sure to keep breastmilk or formula as your baby’s main source of nutrition for the first year.
  • Juice should only be fed from a cup.
