About DHA & ARA

DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and ARA (arachidonic acid) are fatty acids, or lipids, found naturally in breastmilk. They’re important components of Baby’s healthy brain and eye tissues. During the third trimester of pregnancy, Mom passes DHA & ARA to Baby. After Baby is born, Mom can provide DHA & ARA to Baby by breastfeeding or giving her formula with DHA & ARA.

Breastmilk is best for babies. However, if you decide to wean or supplement with formula, your baby's body can make DHA & ARA from the fatty acids (linolenic acid and linoleic acid) found in all infant formulas. Some experts believe that infant formulas that have DHA & ARA, such as GOOD START Gentle PLUS Ready-to-Feed Formula, may provide additional support for formula-fed infants' brain and eye development. Ready-to-Feed instructions:

Your baby’s health depends on carefully following the preparation, use, and storage instructions below. Ask your baby’s doctor about infant formula feeding† including how much to feed and the need to sterilize (boil) preparation utensils before preparing formula.

WARNING: Do not use microwave to warm formula.

Always wash your hands and utensils before preparing formula.

1. Clean can top, SHAKE WELL, and open.
2. Pour formula into bottle and feed baby immediately OR refrigerate and use bottles within 24 hours. After feeding begins, discard formula left in bottle within 1 hour.

STORAGE: Cover open can, refrigerate and use within 48 hours. Store unopened cans at room temperature. Avoid extreme storage temperatures.
