A:

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that juice can be a part of a baby’s healthy, well-balanced diet anytime after the age of 6 months.

Q: How much juice should I give my baby daily?

A:

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends that you wait until your baby is at least 6 months old to start juice. Once your baby is 6 months old you can start with 1 to 2 fluid ounces a day. Older babies can drink up to 4 fluid ounces a day.

Q: Do I need to dilute GERBER® juice when giving it to my baby?

A:

No, GERBER juices are ready to serve. One 4 fluid ounce serving of GERBER Juice provides 100% of the daily recommended value of Vitamin C.

Q: Should I put juice in a cup or can I give it to my baby in a bottle?

A:

It is not recommended to serve juice in a bottle. Juices are a way to add flavor and variety to your baby’s diet once he can drink from a cup.

Q: How long may I keep leftover juice in the refrigerator?

A:

Once open, juice needs to be refrigerated. For 4 oz. single serve juice, use within 2-3 days. For 32 oz. juice, use within 5 – 7 days.

Q: There is sugar listed in the juice nutritional information. Does Gerber add sugar to the juice?

A:

There are many products that contain naturally occurring sugars such as fruit and milk. The sugar listed in the nutrition facts panel in Gerber 100% juices are all naturally occurring – when sugar is listed in the ingredient statement, it is added to the product.

Q: Are the GERBER juices pasteurized?

A:

Yes, Gerber juices are pasteurized.

Q: How do I find the ‘use by’ date on the product?

A:

GERBER products – Each product is stamped with a ‘use by’ date in the format dd MON yy. For example, a use-by date of August 25, 2010 would be indicated as “25 AUG 10”. The numbers before or after the use by date contain information about when and where the product was made.
