Dressing your newborn
A newborn doesn’t have the ability to adjust her body temperature the way you do, so it’s up to you to keep her comfortable:
- Use your own outfit as a guide. Many physicians will tell you to dress your baby as you are dressed, plus one thin layer.
- Keep your home temperature around 68° to 70° F.
- Keep your baby’s head covered in cold weather.
- Don’t overdo it. Babies need to be warm but not hot.
