Coronavirus and Gerber’s response: what you should know
As a partner for both parents and healthcare professionals, we know our products play a vital role in a family’s life.
We are aware of some temporary out-of-stock situations at retail stores and online retailers. We understand the concern that parents feel when seeing empty shelves resulting from unprecedented demand due to the COVID-19 situation. We are doing everything we can and operating seven days a week to produce more high-quality, nutritious formula, food and beverages so that stores can restock as soon as possible.
If a parent finds that a local retailer does not have Gerber products, we encourage them to speak to the store’s manager to find out when the next shipment is scheduled to arrive, or try to obtain our formula, beverages and foods from an online retailer that may have more stock.
We are aware of rumors claiming that Gerber is giving away free formula in response to out-of-stock situations. While this is not true, we remain committed to supporting babies and families with dependable, affordable nutrition.
As always, we’re here for you 24-7. If you have any questions, please give us a call at 1-844-796-5723.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q1) My local store is out of Gerber formula. What are you doing to restock shelves and get families the formula they need?
We are aware that some stores are temporarily out of stock due to unprecedented demand related to the COVID-19 situation. We are doing everything we can and operating seven days a week in our factories and distribution centers to get more high-quality, nutritious formula, food and beverages to stores as soon as possible.
Q2) In light of the coronavirus situation, do you expect there will be issues with supply?
A2) We are aware of some temporary out-of-stock situations at retail stores that have likely resulted from unprecedented demand due to the COVID-19 situation. We are adapting and doing everything we can to get parents and families the high-quality, nutritious formula, foods and beverages they need. The teams in our factories and distribution centers are working seven days a week to get more formula, food and beverages to stores. We will continue to share updates with parents.
Q3) I used your online product locator but then found there was no formula at the store. This is frustrating – why is it happening?
We understand the concern you feel when seeing empty shelves. Because events can change rapidly, online product locators may not always be up-to-date when it comes to products that are in stock. We encourage you to check with your local retailer’s manager and staff who will know when deliveries of Gerber foods, formula and beverages are scheduled.
Q4) If I cannot find Gerber formula in stores is it safe to dilute formula or try to make my own?
As your partner in parenthood, we want to help you find a solution. If you are running out of formula and can’t find it in your local store, call your pediatrician. We want to make sure your little one gets the nutrition he or she needs. Diluted formula and homemade formula are not recommended as they will not provide adequate nutrition and can be dangerous for infants.
Q5) Do you offer any coupons or discounts?
Unfortunately Gerber is not able to provide coupons at this point in time.
Q6) Are you raising prices based on increased demand?
You can rest assured that we value our role as your partner in parenthood and will not raise prices for retailers or in the Gerber Store during this situation. Our first priority is to support babies and their families with dependable and affordable sources of nutrition.
