Preparing baby food
Baby food puree tubs, pouches and jars are convenient, but your little one may not always eat it all. It is best to put the amount of food you think she needs from the packaging into a bowl. If you’re using a pouch, always squeeze the food onto a spoon or into a dish or bowl.
Good to know
When feeding your baby, always spoon her food into a bowl. This will limit baby’s saliva coming in contact with the food and could result in a watery, less appealing product remaining in the container.
Warming baby food
You can serve baby food cold, warm, or at room temperature. If you’d like to warm food up using a microwave, first place food in a microwaveable dish, heat in the microwave for 15 seconds at 50% power. Then, stir to get rid of any hot spots and always test the temperature before feeding. If you want to warm food in their containers (pouch, tub or glass jar) set the container in a dish of warm water for a few minutes.
Storing baby food
You can cover or recap, and refrigerate unused portions of baby food puree tubs and jars for up to two days. To store baby food pouches, recap, refrigerate after opening and serve within 24 hours.
